Art of Family

This blog is becoming more about relationships than art! ;-) Maybe because it is holiday season for most people and relationships & family are in the focus right now...at least for me...
I come from a family of origin where extended family was considered the 'family', not only your 'nuclear family'. As grand parents and other older relatives passed away, this concept started to change in my family. I noticed people only consider nowadays, their nuclear family as family. This is hurting me a lot....Because I not only consider my extended blood family as my family, but I also include my close friends and their families into my 'family' concept! But when I don't see the same treatment in return, my feelings get hurt and I feel betrayed. I guess I have to adjust my expectations from my extended family, otherwise the hurt keeps accumulating....how sad though to do this....why can't we all be part of one big, happy family...

Art Of Relationships!

Have you ever had friends whom you never seen in so many months but when you get together again, it is as if you never been apart. You pick up the conversations from where you left off!  Everyone is happy to see each other and anxious to hear the updates about each other's life! When you get together with these kind of friends; conversation and the feeling of being with true friends become so 'delicious' and timeless just like a priceless piece of art! I had this experience today! How wonderful!
This kind of a friendship is like creating an art piece, too! You put your time, energy and your heart and soul in it!
I wish you all these kind of friendships and relationships in the New Year!

New Year Resolutions...

Now that Christmas rush behind us, we can start focusing on the New Year resolutions...I do set myself one or two new year goals and also review how and what I have done in the previous year on January 1st. I have done this; in the past 11 years and plan to do that again this year.
I review my year in terms of different categories: health, finances, career, education, personal development, family and fun. I try to see if I have done well in these aspects compared to my goals, and see what else can I do to improve it in the New Year! Then I set out new goals...

Why I created this site? What is the purpose?

I created this site because I wanted to learn about blogging and see how it is done. Secondly, I wanted to share my life experiences and thoughts. I don't know if that would be an interest to others.... and I am still debating if I really want to put all that out there on the internet for others to see! but I am taking small steps and will find out If I would like it or not.
Please let me know your experiences with blogging and If I should be careful with some areas. I would be interested to hear your opinions on whether to continue or not...Is it worth the time?

Then, I thought, this site needs a focus other than my daily thoughts...I think the focus will be on art as I love art and creating it as well;  whether it be a painting, statue, photography or knitting....

Expectations in relationships!

Isn't it  interesting to discuss the expectations from each other in a relationship? Just had that discussion with my significant other. He said 'You are not a good house keeper! You cook very well, so I thought you would be a good house keeper as well!' In response, jokingly, I said, smiling 'I just lured you in with my cooking!' and I was kidding, of course! But added quickly: I never wanted to be a good house keeper and do not want to be! I am a career women and do house keeping, if I have time and energy left for it..If not, it just doesn't get done! Don't get me wrong I love cooking and living in an organized and clean place and my place is in decent condition. But I don't like the idea that it is always my responsibility and I have to always keep it up! There is more to life than keeping a house, especially in this day and age...I rather be blogging or traveling than keeping a house. I believe there is nothing wrong with that but some may disagree! ;-) any ideas on this subject???

What is the purpose of life?
I am sure this question has been asked millions of times. Does anyone know the answer? I think not!

Adini Cakiltasi koyacaktim bu sitenin ama hale hazirda alinmis bu ad. Cakiltasi,  universitede iken etkilendigim bir yagliboya tablodan esinlenerek dusundgum bir ad. Yagliboya tablo, bir su kenarindaki cakiltaslarini resimliyordu. Hatirladigim kadari ile, taslarin bir kismi islandiklari su ile parliyorlardi. Ressam gunes isigini taslara cok guzel yansitmisti. O zamanin parasi ile ne kadar oldugunu hatirlamiyorum ama parasiz bir universite ogrencisi icin cok pahali idi..O gun bugundur, gittigim her resim sergisinde buna benzer bir tablo ariyorum, el yapimi ya da fotograf olabilir, ama henuz bulamadim! Bu tablo, o zamanlar ki Zafer Pasajindaki sergi salonunda idi; tam yilini hatirlamiyorum ama 1985'e yakin zamanlardaydi diye dusunuyorum.
Cakil taslarini cok guzel bir sekilde resimleyen bu tabloyu yillardir aramam gibi, hayatin da anlamini arayip durdum! Bakalim bu arayislarimi bu blog da desigik sekillerde dile getirip bir takim seyleri de kesfetmeyi basarabilecek miyim!?
Cakiltasi
